How Trivia Showdown: Home Turf works
Most quiz games ask everyone the same questions. Home Turf asks the question every proud citizen secretly wants answered: do you actually know your own country? Choose your country from more than 190 options and the quiz adapts to you, with questions about your capital, currency, flag, history, food, sport and famous places, plus quick-fire questions about your neighbours in the same region.
Four ways to play
- 🏠 Home Turf: questions about your own country and region. In an online game, every player gets questions about their own country, so a Kenyan, a Canadian and an Australian can battle it out at the same time.
- 🔄 Swap / Explore: solo, you pick any country and test yourself on it. Online, everyone answers about another player's country. It's the perfect way to find out how much your friends abroad really know about where you're from.
- 🌐 World Mix: everyone gets the same mix of world geography, flags, science and history.
- 🎯 Topics: pick a pack (Football, Movies & TV, Music, Science & Space, History, or Money & Business) and play it solo or against friends online. Each pack has 30 questions, so every game feels different.
Scoring
Each question has a timer. A correct answer earns up to 1,000 points: 500 for being right and up to 500 more for answering quickly. Wrong answers and timeouts score nothing. Every correct answer also earns a Hype Point for the global leaderboard, a perfect solo round earns a bonus, and the winner of an online showdown takes home extra Hype Points.
Countries with full question packs
The United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Ireland, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Kenya have full hand-written question packs covering history, landmarks, food, sport and culture. Every other country is fully playable with questions about its capital, currency and flag, plus its neighbours. More full packs are on the way.
Tips to score big
- Speed matters. Answering in the first few seconds can nearly double your points.
- Learn your neighbours. Home Turf includes regional questions, so knowing the capitals and flags next door pays off.
- Read the facts. After many questions you'll see a short fact. They come back in later games.
